I've been a touring drummer, a founder, a consultant, an opperations manager...

I've felt like I've lived many different lives.

And yet. I've always felt like I don't belong.

Just last week, my financé and I were going over our wedding plans, and we decided to only invite 26 people to the wedding.

We're only close to a few people and we don't want to feel like an outsider at our own wedding.

And being this intentional with my community is one of the best business decisions I ever made.

Here's what I mean:My family grew up dirt-poor.

Pay the mortgage or heat the house was a common decision my dad had to make...

So my community was full of other people like me.

People who had similar believes...

Money is bad.

If you make more money, someone makes less.

Wanting money is the shallowest pursuit.

Because my community shared these beliefs, I thought this was the only way to live.

Then one day, I noticed my younger brother.

Something had changed in him.

Once-self-absorbed, now... different.

He started actively listening.

Started self-reflecting.

Started caring about himself and others.

I asked him what changed and he said, "I started hanging out with entrepreneurs.

"I didn't know what an "entrepreneur" was, but if my little bro was growing this much, I wanted to be around these people.

This community of entrepreneurs are who taught me what's possible.

Fast forward to today, and my younger brother is a multi-millionaire.

He sold 2 businesses, each for multiple-millions of dollars - the first business sold before he could legally drink.

My older brother built a business to mid-7 figures.

And I've taught hundreds of people how to grow their businesses from 6-to-7 figures, started multiple companies, and been a part of selling 2 businesses.

I didn't know any of this stuff exists - much less was possible.

That's the power of community.

Community shapes your belief of what's possible.

And those beliefs direct your actions.
